УРОК ЧТЕНИЯ

Задачи урока:

  1. Активизировать употребление лексики предыдущих уроков в речи учащихся.
  2. Тренировать учащихся в чтении с целью извлечения детальной информации.
  3. Научить учащихся извлекать информацию из текста в том объеме,который необходим для решения конкретной речевой задачи.
  4. Использовать ситуацию текста в качестве языковой (речевой) содержательной опоры для развития умений в устной и письменной речи.
  5. Развивать языковую догадку.
  6. Практиковать учащихся в работе со словарем.

План урока:

I Организационный момент.

II Фонетическая зарядка по лексике предыдущего урока:

[t]–pocket,pocket money,get pocket money,computer,telephone.

[w]–twice a week,sweets,washing dishes,with,work, without;

[О]–three, three times a month,think,I think;

III Речевая зярядка:

Teacher: Answer the questions:

  • How do you get pocket money?
  • How much pocket money do you have?
  • How often do you get pocket money?
  • What do you spend your pocket money on?
  • Is it good to have pocket money? Why or why not?

IV Проверка устного домашнего задания:

V Работа по чтению.

Reader. Ex. 2 , p. 67-7O. A story from the book “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”

By Mark Twain.

Before reading activities:

  1. Look at the pictures and answer the questions:
    1. Who is the story about?
    2. What is the story about?
    3. What problems will the main hero have?
  2. Work with the vocabulary.

Look through the phrases and think about the main idea of the text:

To keep somebody clean
To eat like a gentleman
To sleep in bed
To wear good clothers
Don’t allow somebody to smoke
To suffer for three weeks
To change a little
To be covered with dust
Hair to be wild
To be different

While reading activities:

1. Reading for detail.

2. Find the words in the text.Try to find their meanings through the context. Match the English words with the Russian equivalents:

Return страдать

3. Draw a box around the things from this list that happen in the story:

  1. Huck lived with Mrs Douglas for three weeks.
  2. Mrs Douglas took Huck for a walk every morning.

  4. Huck spent three weeks with Mrs Douglas and ran away.
  5. Nobody tried to find him.

  3. Tom said,”If you want to join me and the other boys you must live like us.”

5. Answer: What must Huck do at Mrs Douglas house?

6. Do you agree with the ideas below? Use the text to support your idea.

  1. Huck didn’t like living with Mrs Douglas.
  2. Mrs Douglas was strict with Huck.
  3. Huck didn’t like money.

7.  Find reasons:

  • why Huck’s life changed.
  • why he ran away.
  • why he couldn’t live like all children.
  • why being rich is not good.

8. Huck thought that his private life was his own business. What is his idea of:

  • where to live?
  • what to do?
  • what not to do?
  • what to have?

9. Do you agree with Huck?What is your idea of a good private life?

10. What do you think will happen next?

Follow-up activities:

1. Characterize the main heroes ( Tom,Huck ).

2. Pretend you are Tom ( Huck,Mrs Douglas ).
    Retell the text.

3. Write at least 3 ways Huck and Tom are different.
Read what you have written above.
Which things that you have written describe you?

4. Real life. Answer:

– Do you think a story like this one could happen in real life? Why or why not?
– Could this ever happen in your life? Why or why not?

VI Объяснение домашнего задания:

  1. Write the summary of the story.
  2. Draw a picture of where and when the story took place.
