Внеклассная работа по предмету является одним из путей повышения качества обучения, предполагает высокую мыслительную активность учащихся, повышает их творческую инициативу и способствует повышению мотивации к изучению предмета.

Проведение по-праздничному яркого внеклассного мероприятия значительно повышает интерес к предмету. Овладение языком осуществляется в ходе творческой деятельности. Увлекательные формы работы, такие как конкурсы, соревнования, вечера и т.д., способствуют углублению языковых знаний, формированию и развитию языковой компетенции у учащихся. Эффективно организованная внеклассная работа в различных формах должна стать логическим продолжением учебной работы.

As you now, children are fond of different contests, competitions and parties. So I would like to share my ideas how to organize "Miss English" competition.

Цели:

  1. Создать условия для проявления индивидуальных художественных способностей учащихся;
  2. Дать им возможность оценить свой уровень владения языком и создать положительную мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению языка;
  3. Развитие памяти и воображения.

Procedure:

Invite six students to take part in the competition;

Announce in advance (2-3 weeks before the competition) the tasks which you would like the students to perform;

The jury: there must be a jury. After each task they show signs. Then at the and of the competition the points will be counted by the jury to determine the winner.

Have a musical pause in the competition when a school singer (a student who is good at singing) can sing an English song to let the jury score the competition.

The tasks for the competition are:

  • Introducing yourself;
  • Reciting poems;
  • Describing things;
  • Dramatizing (in pairs)
  • Dancing ;
  • Questions .

And this is our honorable jury. Applause, please (introducing the jury). I think, the jury will be all eyes and ears to follow the contest and they will be helpful to score the points. The participant with the highest score will become the winner of the competition.

And now it`s time to begin our contest itself. I think it`s going to be an exciting competition. Good luck.

The first task is: introducing yourself.

For example: Hi! My name is: I`m not going to praise myself, but all in all I`m an unusual girl. I`m 15. They say "The brevity is the sister of talent". So I will be laconic. Firstly, I wish to get the title "Miss English" and next year I`m going to visit England. It`s interesting to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people and to communicate with them in English. I agree that "He, who doesn`t know a foreign language, doesn`t know his own language. Thank you":

And now I want you to choose the question written on one of these flowers and answer it. For example: What is you favorite season and why?

My favorite season is spring. Nature awakens from its long winter sleep. The ground is covered with emerald-green grass and the first flowers. The air is fresh. The birds begin to sing their lovely songs and their sweet melodies may be heard from every wood and park. Spring is the time for lovers. Am I right? Thank you:

I want our spectators to participate in our contest too. We`ve got three translations of the poem "Sealed with a kiss", made by our students. Listen and decide: which is the best one:

So, who likes the first translation? Raise your hands and say "Yes". And so on:

It`s difficult to decide which girl is better. But it`s not our job. Our respected jury must do it. Will you tell us the results of the first task?

We are beginning the next task: reciting the poems. Listen and get pleasure, please.

Attention, please. There are different things on the table. Dear girls! You are to take a thing in accordance with your number and tell us what you think about it. For example: a dress.

I think it`s a nice summer dress. It`s quite to my taste. I like its color. It`s not too long. Of course, the cut is somewhat strange. But I think such dresses are just coming in.

A hat: it`s a fashionable hat. It`s just coming in. It`s my size. I think it`s just what I want. This hat is very becoming to me and it matches my dress.

Jury, will you be so kind to comment on the answers of our girls: And what is the total score for a while? : Thank you.

Dear friends! The girls had a special home task to dramatize the scenes from the plays "An Ideal Husband" by O.Wilde, "Vanity Fair" by W.Thackeray, "The Little Foxes" by L.Hellman.

We want you, dear girls, to show us your skills in drama. Please, let`s begin with the play:

I see, our today`s contest us coming to its end and the last task will turn out to be decisive. It`s called "Dancing" (the girls dance in pairs):
