Ведущий 1: Good morning, our dear friends

Ведущий 2: We are glad to meet you at our unusual contest which is called “The Day of the European Languages”!

Ведущий 1: All of us know about the role of the English language in our life. But today we should speak about other European languages which are no less important than English. Such languages are French and Spanish. Let’s see the difference and beauty of the European languages and their relation to each other.

Ведущий 2: We have 2 teams which present these languages. And let’s greet the judges who are the representatives of the 11th form: (Фамилии). Let’s get acquainted with our teams. Please, the leaders, you are welcome to introduce your teams.

Команда 1: I am the representative of the team which presents the French language. Our team is called “Альтаир”.

Команда 2: I am the representative of the team which presents the Spanish language. Our team is called “Adelante a la Victoria ”.

Ведущий 2: We wish you good luck!

Ведущий 1: Our contest starts right now!

– The first step is your home presentation. Let’s define who will be the first.

– Please, take the card. If you have a picture on it then you are the first one. If you haven’t than you are the second. You are welcome to start. Please, listen to your opponents very attentively to answer the questions after the presentation.

The judges, please, announce the scores. Thank you very much.

Ведущий 2: You have already known two foreign languages. That’s why you may be considered as beginners in Linguistics. We give you a chance to display your skills.

You will get the cards with French/Spanish words and their Russian equivalents. Try to match them. You have 5 minutes. You can start.

Time is over. Put aside your pens and give me the cards.

Ведущий 1: While our judges are checking the cards and counting the scores, we will entertain ourselves a little bit with the help of our next step. It is called “Associations”.

When we speak about a definite country a certain picture occurs to us. For example, Great Britain is associated with the Queen, the Tower, Big Ben, double-deckers. And what is associated with France and Spain? Let’s try to do it in the form of a small performance.

One team presents 2 distinguishing features of their country and another team should guess what it is.

You have 7 minutes to prepare. Try to bring into play as many members as possible.

Ведущий1: Let’s define who will be the first. Please, the leaders take the card.

Team1 is the first. You are welcome to present your performance.

Ведущий 1: Thank you. That was very well done.

Ведущий 2: Let’s look at the blackboard. There are some changes in our scores. Team 1/2 is the leading one. But don’t give up. There is enough time to improve the results.

Judges, are you ready with the scores for the third step? Please, announce them to us. Thank you.

So, we have had a little fun and now we offer you to turn your brains to logic thinking. Do you like to solve crosswords? I’m sure you do. Try hard and be the best. Here are the crosswords. You have 5 minutes. Ready! Steady! Go!

Ведущий 2: Put aside your pens and hand in your crosswords. Our judges will check them and count the scores. And we will pass to our last step.

Ведущий 1: During the preparations you were listening to French and Spanish songs. Now it is your turn. Let’s sing. But at first let’s define who will be the first. Please, take the card. If you have a picture on it then you are the first.

Please, come to the blackboard to present your song.

Ведущий 1: Thank you very much. That was beautiful. The next team, please.

Ведущий 1: Thanks a lot. That was wonderful.

Ведущий 2: And now we call on the judges to announce the scores for the last step and for the whole contest.

Judges: We liked the songs. They are really beautiful. You were singing very well. That’s why each team gets 5 scores. And we’d like to announce the final results for the whole contest. Team 1/2 – “ ” scores. Team 1/2 – “ ” scores. The winner is team “ ”.

Ведущий 2: We congratulate our winners. But nevertheless defining the role of French and Spanish we come to the conclusion that English is the most comfortable language and it unites all people.

Thank you very much for your active participation in our contest. Everyone was brilliant. That’s why we would like to award you to remember about our wonderful contest.

La Tour Eiffel. C`est un monument celebre qui est devenu symbole de Paris. La Tour Eiffel a ete construite pour l`exposition universelle de 1889 sur le projet de l`ingenieur Eiffel.
Le Louvre. A l`origine c`etait une forteresse, puis le palais des rois de France. Au XVIII siecle, le palais est Devenu le plus grand musee de France.
La Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris. C`est la plus celebre cathedrale de France, une vraie symphonie de pierre. Elle est situee dans l`ile de la Cite.
L’Arc de Triomphe. C`est un monument qui se dresse au milieu de la place Charles de Gaulle. Il a ete construit sur l`ordre de Napoleon I pour immortaliser son epopee militaire.
Le musee d’Orsay. Le musee d`art moderne ou il y a une riche collection d`art impressionniste.
