Тема: “How do You Spend Your Holidays?”

Цель урока: обобщение изученного материала и подготовка учащихся к проектной деятельности.

Задачи урока:

1. Образовательные:

  • закрепление лексического материала по теме: «Каникулы»;
  • расширение лексического запаса учащихся;
  • расширение эрудиции;
  • углубление знаний по английскому языку;

2. Практические:

  • подготовка к проекту;
  • выявление уровня знаний, умений и навыков у учащихся по пройденной теме;
  • совершенствование навыков аудирования;

3. Развивающие:

  • развитие навыков чтения и говорения;
  • развитие языковой догадки;
  • развитие внимания, памяти и воображения.

4. Воспитательные:

  • воспитание умений работать в парах, группах и самостоятельно;
  • воспитание культуры общения;
  • воспитание чувства взаимопомощи.

Оборудование:

  • К.И. Кауфман, М.Ю. Кауфман: 7 класс Happy English. ru.
  • компьютер, компьютерный проектор; презентация “How do You Spend Your Holidays?”.
  • магнитофон, аудиокассета.

Форма проведения: открытый урок.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент

Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls. I am glad to see you.

Pupils: Good morning, teacher.

Teacher: Sit down, please.

Teacher: Who is on duty today?

Pupil 1: I am on duty today.

Teacher: What date is it today?

Pupil 1: Today is the 10th of November.

Teacher: What day is it today?

Pupil 1: Today is Monday.

Teacher: Who is absent today?

Pupil 1: Everybody is present.

Teacher: Today we will continue to talk about holidays, do exercises and prepare for our projects. It’s time to start our lesson.

2. Фонетическая зарядка (Слайд 2)

Teacher: Now let’s have some phonetic practice. Look at the board and repeat after me, please. Try to translate the words.

Teacher: to put up a tent.

Teacher: Thank you. I hope that you will not make any mistakes in the pronunciation of these phrases. Now answer my questions.

Pupil 2: Yes, I do.

Teacher: Do you like to make new friends?

Pupil 3: Yes, I do.

Teacher: Where do you pick berries and mushrooms?

Pupil 4: I pick berries and mushrooms in the forest.

Teacher: Do you like to feed hens and chickens?

Pupil 5: Yes, I do.

Teacher: Do you like to do shopping?

Pupil 6: Yes, I do.

Teacher: Do you like to go horse-riding?

Pupil 7: Yes, I do.

Teacher: Do you like to dance?

Pupil 8: Yes, I do.

4. Проверка домашнего задания (Слайд 3)

Teacher: That’s it. Thank you very much. It’s high time to check your homework – ex. 3 page 51. Read the text “Olga’s Story” once more.

Olga wants to make up a good story about her holiday. Help Olga change her story. Use the words which are on the board (clean, friendly, big, warm, lucky, the best holiday, the best, tasty, TV) and fill in the gaps in your cards.

Olga’s Story.

This April we went to Turkey to the Larmona Hotel. I liked it there! We were … with the weather and the sea was…. Our room was … and …, there was …. The food in the restaurant was …, the waiters were … and the entertainment team was …. There was a mini-zoo next to our hotel, so every day a cockerel woke us up at 7 o’clock in the morning. It was ….

Pupil 1: This April we went to Turkey to the Larmona Hotel. I liked it there! We were lucky with the weather and the sea was warm.

Pupil 2: Our room was clean and big, there was TV.

Pupil 3: The food in the restaurant was tasty, the waiters were friendly and the entertainment team was the best.

Pupil 4: There was a mini-zoo next to our hotel, so every day a cockerel woke us up at 7 o’clock in the morning. It was the best holiday.

5. Работа с текстом «История Анны» (Слайды 4 - 7)

Teacher: Well done. Now read Anya’s story ex. 3, p. 52. Look at the board. I will show her photos and you should tell me what is happening there. You can find this information in the text.

Pupil 6: She goes to the Crimea, to the Black Sea.

Pupil 7: She is swimming.

Pupil 8: Her brother is going windsurfing.

Pupil 9: They are going on interesting excursions.

6. Сравнение историй Ольги и Анны (Слайд 8)

Teacher: Excellent. Now let’s compare Olga’s and Anya’s stories. The first group will tell about Olga and the second – about Anya. Use the plan which is on the board.

Plan

  1. Place.
  2. Time.
  3. Weather.
  4. The sea.
  5. Activities.
  6. Opinion.

The first group: Olga went to Turkey.

The second group: Anya went to the Crimea.

The first group: Olga went in April.

The second group: Anya went in summer.

The first group: The weather was awful.

The second group: The weather was excellent.

The first group: The sea was cold.

The second group: The sea was very warm and clean.

The first group: Olga went to the restaurant.

The second group: Anya swam, went on some very interesting excursions.

The first group: Olga didn’t like her holidays.

The second group: Anya liked her holidays.

Teacher: Let’s discuss whose stories you like best of all. But first of all look at the board and repeat the phrases after me, try to translate them. Use these phrases in your speech (Слайд 9)

Pupil 1: As for me I like Anya’s story best of all because the weather was excellent and the sea was warm.

Pupil 2: To my mind Olga’s story is the best of all because she went to Turkey and stayed at the hotel.

Pupil 3: I think that Anya’s story is the best of all because she went on some very interesting excursions.

7. Формирование навыков письма (Слайд 10)

Teacher: Thank you. Now let’s do ex. 7, on page 55. You should fill in the table with the activities. But first of all let’s divide into four groups. The first group fill the table “If I go camping I can…”; the second group – “If I go to the village I can…”; the third group – “If I go abroad I can…” and the fourth group – “If I go to a big city I can…”.

The first group: “If I go camping I can put up a tent, play the guitar, swim, make a campfire, cook on the campfire, take the pictures, find the way in the forest, go fishing, pick up berries and mushrooms”.

The second group: “If I go to the village I can milk cows, make jam, go horse-riding, make friends, pick up berries and mushrooms, bring in the harvest, feed hens and chickens and go fishing”.

The third group: “If I go abroad I can go windsurfing, speak English, make friends, do shopping, see places of interest and take pictures”.

The fourth group: “If I go to a big city I can dance, do shopping, see places of interest, take pictures and go by underground”.

8. Составление диалогов (Слайд 11)

Teacher: Great. Make up short dialogues using these words and phrases. You are going somewhere and ask each other what you will do there.

9. Физкультминутка

Teacher: Let’s have some rest and play the game “Pantomime”. Take cards with phrases and describe to your classmates.

10. Формирование навыков аудирования (Слайд 12)

Teacher: Excellent. Now you will listen to the dialogue between Rob and Mark. You should complete the sentences. But first of all look at them and read by yourself.

Pupils read the sentences then listen to the dialogue and answer (ex. B, p.56 или учитель сам читает диалог упр. A, стр. 56).

Pupil 1: Mark is in Spain.

Pupil 2: The weather is cold.

Pupil 3: Rosy is learning windsurfing.

Pupil 4: Rosy is learning windsurfing in the sea.

Pupil 5: Rosy is wearing a special swim suit.

Pupil 6: Mark is watching a film.

11. Сообщение «Мои летние каникулы» (Слайд 13)

Teacher: That’s good. Look at the board, you see the plan. Use this plan and tell us about your summer holidays.

Plan

  1. I went to… (the sea, the village, the city).
  2. The place was… (wonderful, beautiful, amazing).
  3. I went… (alone, with my family, friends).
  4. I got by … there (car, plane, train, boat).
  5. I stayed at… (the hotel, my relatives, friends).

(Pupils tell about their summer holidays).

Pupil 1: I went to the sea. The place was exciting. I went with my family. I got by train there. I stayed at our friends. I swam, played and took pictures.

12. Домашнее задание (Слайд 14)

Teacher: Excellent. Thank you for the lesson. Please write down your homework: do ex. C p. 56, p. 44, 46 – learn, prepare your projects p. 57.
