Story - teller:

Marshak was one of the famous poets and writers in our country.

He often wrote for little children. Marshak was born in Russia in 1887. He lived in Chkalova street in Moscow. The writer received a lot of letters from all parts of our country, from foreign countries (England, China, Japan, etc.). In his childhood Marshak liked to read books very much and when he was four he began to write his first poems. The writer studied in St. Petersburg.

In 1905 he left Russia for England where he got his education at the university. In 1914 he returned to Russia and began to write for children. In 1922 his first book was published.

He wrote many famous books "Teremok", "Cat's house", "12 months".

Marshak often translated the poems of English poets from English into Russian. And now all little children know and like his poems, such as "Three Little Kittens", "Little Girl", "Dame Trot", "Traveller", Robin the Bobin".

Teacher: What poems do you know?

Сидящие в зале учащиеся поднимают руки, встают и называют стихотворения.

Teacher: Good! Perhaps you know a few Marshak's poems and songs.

or a mouse in the dark?

The cat: Purr.

Pussy cat, pussy cat
Where have you been?

To look at the Queen.

What did you do there?

The cat:

I've frightened a little
mouse under the chair

4. Three Little kittens.

Story - teller:

Three little kittens,
They lost their mittens,
And they began to cry.

The kittens:

Oh, Mother dear,
We greatly fear
Our mittens we have lost.

Mother:

Lost your mittens,
You naughty kittens!
Then you will have no pie.
Miew, miew, miew,
No, you will have no pie.

Story - teller:

Three little kittens,
They found their mittens,
And they began to cry.

The kittens:

Oh, Mother dear,
See here, see here,
Our mittens we have found.

Found your mittens, you clever kittens,
Then you will have some pie.
