SONG “Love story - Andy Williams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jEaIDqHl74

Where do I begin to tell the story....” (1 куплет)

Where do I begin
To tell the story of how great a love can be
The sweet love story that is older than the sea
The simple truth about the love she brings to me
Where do I start

With her first hello
She gave new meaning to this empty world of mine
There'd never be another love, another time
She came into my life and made the living fine
She fills my heart

She fills my heart with very special things
With angels songs , with wild imaginings
She fills my soul with so much love
That anywhere I go I'm never lonely
With her around, who could be lonely
I reach for her hand-its always there

Jim is going away after the song.

Scene 2 . Della and Madame

(звуковой файл Приложение 2)

Della walking down the street: “One dollar and eighty-seven cents. That is all. And sixty cents of it are in pennies. Pennies have been saved one and two at a time by bulldozing the grocer and the vegetable man and the butcher...I have counted them 3 times... And the next day will be Christmas. I have been saving every penny I could for months, with this result. Twenty dollars a week doesn't go far. Expenses have been greater than I have calculated. They always are. Only $1.87 to buy a present for Jim. My Jim. Many happy hours I have spent planning for something nice for him. I have been looking forward to this nice holiday with my Jim....But I can’t afford any presents....My dear Jim. He takes such a big place in my life.”

Della is singing

Song” BARBRA STREISAND

"Evergreen (Love Theme From "A Star Is Born")" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-vADV3GNzo

Love soft as an easy chair
Love fresh as the morning air
One love that is shared by two
I have found with you
Like a rose under the April snow
I was always certain love would grow
Love is ageless and evergreen
Seldom seen by two
You and I will
make each night the first
Everyday a beginning
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed
They warm and excite us
'Cause we have the brightest love.

Della stopped and read the sign: "Mrs. Sofronie. Hair Goods of All Kinds."

Della finished her cry and attended to her cheeks with the powder rag.

Della came in and asked: "Will you buy my hair?"

Madame. "I buy hair," "Take your hat off and let's have a sight at the looks of it."

Down rippled the brown cascade.

Madame, lifting the mass with a practiced hand : "Twenty dollars.

Della. "Give it to me quick," Now I know what to buy for my Jim. I have seen such a beautiful chain for his watch.!!”

Della went away quickly to look for a present.

Scene 3. Jim and Shop assistant

(звуковой файл Приложение 4)

Jim: I love my dear Della so much. I can’t imagine my life without her. Where should I find any money for my present? Christmas is such a great holiday! But I have no money. I have nothing...just my watch...But I must solve the problem. I have seen the buying up just round the corner. There I will be able to sell my watch and get some money for the present. “

He came into the shop.

Shop assistant: Could I help you? What do you want?

Jim: I would like to sell my watch. How much does it cost?

Shop assistant: I think 20 dollars.

Jim: It is much more expensive. Really.

Shop assistant: I think 20 dollars. That’s enough money for it. Will you sell it?

We are going to close. Soon it will be Christmas...

Jim: Yes. I awfully need some money.

Jim went away to look for a present.

Scene 4. Della and Jim

Their room. (Звонок в дверь – звуковой файл Приложение 3)

Della is greeting her husband.

"Jim, darling," Della cried, "don't look at me that way. I had my hair cut off and sold because I couldn't have lived through Christmas without giving you a present. It'll grow out again--you won't mind, will you? I just had to do it. My hair grows awfully fast. Say `Merry Christmas!' Jim, and let's be happy. You don't know what a nice-- what a beautiful, nice gift I've got for you."

"You've cut off your hair?" asked Jim, laboriously, as if he had not arrived at that patent fact yet even after the hardest mental labor.

"Cut it off and sold it," said Della. "Don't you like me just as well, anyhow? I'm me without my hair, aren’t I?"

Jim looked about the room curiously.

"You say your hair is gone?" he said, with an air almost of idiocy.

"You needn't look for it," said Della. "It's sold, I tell you--sold and gone, too. It's Christmas Eve, boy. Be good to me, for it went for you.

Jim drew a package from his overcoat pocket and threw it upon the table.

"Don't make any mistake, Dell," he said, "about me. I don't think there's anything in the way of a haircut or a shave or a shampoo that could make me like my girl any less. But if you'll unwrap that package you may see why you had me going a while at first."

Della tore at the string and paper. And then an ecstatic scream of joy; and then, alas! a quick feminine change to hysterical tears and wails, necessitating the immediate employment of all the comforting powers of the lord of the flat.

For there lay The Combs--the set of combs, side and back, that Della had worshipped long in a Broadway window. Beautiful combs, pure tortoise shell, with jewelled rims--just the shade to wear in the beautiful vanished hair. They were expensive combs, she knew, and her heart had simply craved and yearned over them without the least hope of possession. And now, they were hers, but the tresses that should have adorned the coveted adornments were gone.

Della: "My hair grows so fast, Jim!"

And then Della leaped up and cried, "Oh, oh!" Jim, you have not seen your beautiful present yet.

She held it out to him eagerly. The dull precious metal seemed to flash with a reflection of her bright and ardent spirit.

Della:"Isn't it dandy, Jim? I hunted all over town to find it. You'll have to look at the time a hundred times a day now. Give me your watch. I want to see how it looks on it."

Jim tumbled down on the couch and put his hands under the back of his head and smiled.

"Dell," said he, "let's put our Christmas presents away and keep 'em a while. They're too nice to use just at present. I sold the watch to get the money to buy your combs”

"I'm Your Angel"

(feat. Celine Dion)

No mountain's too high for you to climb
All you have to do is have some climbing faith, oh yeah
No river's too wide for you to make it across
All you have to do is believe it when you pray

And then you will see the morning will come
And every day will be bright as the sun
All of your fears cast them on me
I just want you to see

I'll be your cloud up in the sky
I'll be your shoulder when you cry
I hear your voices when you call me
I am your angel

And when all hope is gone, I'm here
No matter how far you are, I'm near
It makes no difference who you are
I am your angel
I'm your angel

I saw your teardrops and I heard you cry
All you need is time
Seek me and you shall find
You have everything and you're still lonely
It don't have to be this way
Let me show you a better day

And then you will see the morning will come
And all of your days will be bright as the sun
So all of your fears just cast them on me
How can I make you see?
