You and I"

It seems to me, it’s all the same
Another month, another day...
Your lessons are the same, but new...
They touch your heart,
They’re dear to you.
Is this the same, when all again?
Another month, another day...

Dear colleagues! I am glad to see you – colleagues, friends, - on this unusual day for me. Glad to see you – nice women, interesting teachers, young teachers, serious teachers. Today you are my guests at my lessons, you’ll see my pupils, rest, meet old friends. Don’t be serious! Let’s think about spring, about past and future, don’t think about my and pupil’s mistakes. Forget about tasks, marks. Be happy, don’t worry!

Some of you know me for ages, for others I am a dark horse, but naturally I am the Pisces, simply the Fish in Chinese horoscope and the Dog. My stars determine my life, my choice of profession. Do you know the Fish? Do you know the Dog? There is some information, my strong (positive) and weak (negative) points, serious variants and humorous variants.

2. The comment of horoscope. G.P. Rudnik (colleague) about Tamara Georgievna (T. G.):

As the Dog: loyal, noble, modest, devoted, prosperous, critical, defensive.

As the Pisces: gifted, merry, no power-hungry, artistic, quick-witted, humorous, independent, charming, talented from the birth, not vanity.

Druid’s Horoscope: She is a willow – by the way the Queen Elizabeth the First is also a will. A willow is decisive. She knows well what she wants, but she never forces her ideas upon others, because of her great respect.

Flower Horoscope. T.G. is Poppy. The way of the Poppy is not smooth. As a form teacher she has not only roses but thorns either. But she believes in herself .As for Poppy – you shouldn’t appreciate meat dishes, vegetables and fruit are the source of vitamins and good mood.

3. Children’s version.

Pupil 1 and Pupil 2:

Fish My Dog
Fish have fins
And fish have tails,
Fish have skins
Concealed by scales
Fish are seldom
Found on land;
Fish would rather
Swim than stand.
Dogs are noisy,
Dogs forget,
Dogs are friendly
When they’re wet. But...
Dogs are loyal,
Dogs defend,
Dogs are often
Your best friend!

T.G.: As a clever person says: “Give a person a fish and they eat for a day. Teach a person how to fish and they eat for the rest of their lives”.

4. T.G. I think you’ve got an imagination: I can bark as a dog, I can conceal my emotions. “I teach to love, I love to teach. My joy is measured by the children I reach”. (Jan Kennedy).

I’ve worked at this school during 25 years. I can’t imagine my work without my friends. I really love my “boss”, my colleague and friend Galina Petrovna. She is a lovely person, it’s very easy to work with her. And I want to devote her this poem.

Your friendship’s been a gift to me
For such a long time now,
If feels just like a part of me
I couldn’t do without...
And so I hope You understand
My meaning when I say –
I thank You and I’m wishing You
Much happiness today!

Do you remember our previous compositions? Do you remember our “Romeo and Juliet”, “Britain at a glance”, “The Portrait of Queen Elizabeth and Margaret Thatcher”, the competition of stewards, “Love story” play?

Years fly away, but we are faithful to our profession as early. Let’s our dreams and hopes will be true. Fly away the reality!

5. Pupil 3:

G.G. Byron.

Few are my years, and yet I feel
The world was never designed for me:
Ah! Why do darkening shades conceal
The hour when man must cease to be?
Once I beheld a splendid dream,
A visionary scene of bliss!
Truth! – wherefore did they hated bream
Awake me to a world like this?
I love- but those I loved are gone;
Had friends- my early friends are fled;
How cheerless- fells the heard alone,
When all the former hopes are dead!
Though day companions o’er the bowl
Dispel a while the sense of ill;
Though pleasure stirs the maddening soul;
The heart - the heart - is lonely still.

6. T.G. Among our colleagues there are many beautiful, optimistic, attractive women. Do you agree? Mrs. V.N.- our pretty <<Vallya>>.

Henry Carey, Michael Knight with Pupil 4 ‘’wrote’’ to her a poem ‘’Sally’’ (Vallya).

Of all the woman that are so smart
There is none like pretty Vallya,
She is the darling of my heart,
And she lives in our alley.
There is no Lady in the land
Who is so sweet as Vallya.
She is the darling of my heart,
And she lives in our alley.

Vallya, Allya - Ladies from school  № 11.They know the secrets of youth and beauty.

7. T.G. Today I see among the guests women, who gives me something: a piece of soul, a piece of advice, charming smiles, serious attitude to life. Thank you for your warmness and care.

Pupil 5. She walks in Beauty.

(Devoted to all our beautiful and charming teachers).

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies,
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven trees,
Or softly lighten over her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place
And on that cheek, and over that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent.

8. T.G. To Be or not to Be.

To be a man at school or not to be,
To see a man or not to see.
Twinkle, twinkle, Man at school!
How I wonder, what you are.
Up above the moon so high
Like a diamond (stranger) in school sky.
Look around! What can you see?
Only one English Teacher Man... Let it be!

We prepare a portrait of Hamlet and invite English Teacher Man to describe it.

“Гамлет” (a man at school)

Pupil 8: If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are loosing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait but not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies.
Or being hated, don’t give to hating
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream- and not make dreams your master,
If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life, broken.
And stoop and build them up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch and toss,
And lose, and start again at your loss.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will, which says to them “Hold on!”
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue
Or walk with Kings –nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it
And which is more- you’ll be a Man, my son!

9. T.G.: Years pass… Time gives wise…Technology changes, our teachers’ expectations change, the language itself changes, but we are not changeable! The representatives of new generation join our Teacher’s Unit. My pupils make them a present - daffodils.

Pupil 9:

I wondered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high over vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Besides the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves besides them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poem couldn’t but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed and gazed – but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For often, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
(William Wordsworth)

10. T.G.: My life consists of two songs “Yesterday” (in bad mood) and “We shall overcome” (in good mood). Let’s listen and sing! (Звучат песни “Yesterday”, “We shall overcome”)

Pupil 10: Leisure

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare!
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to start and stare.
