Образовательные задачи:

  1. знакомство учащихся со страной изучаемого языка;
  2. расширение кругозора учащихся

Воспитательные задачи:

  1. воспитание чувства уважения к стране изучаемого языка;
  2. воспитание чувства любви к Родине

Развивающие задачи: развитие памяти, внимания, догадки, мышления, интереса к английскому языку как к учебному предмету.

Материал к уроку: карта Лондона, билет в Лондон, кассета для аудирования (звуки часов Big Ben), текст для чтения, кроссворд, плакат с кодом букв.

Ход урока

I. Подготовка учащихся к учебной деятельности на иностранном языке

1) Организационный момент. Good morning, everybody. I’m very glad to see you again. Sit down.

2) Речевая зарядка. (Учитель показывает билет в Лондон.) What is it? Can you guess? Yesterday I won a ticket to London. Is London a village? Is it a city? What is it? Do you like this town? Were you there? Was your mother there? What is there in London? What can we see there? Is there a park? Is there a museum? Are there theatres? Are there gardens? Do you want to see all this? Do you want to travel with me? I’ll take you. But to get there we should remember our poem “Town and village”^ one, two. (Дети хором рассказывают стихотворение.)

Some people live in the country,
Where the houses are very small.
Some people live in the city,
Where the houses are very tall.

II. Отработка ранее веденного языкового материала и овладение различными видами речевой деятельности

1) Развитие навыков диалогической речи. Children, look at the map. We are now in London, here (Учитель показывает на карте место, где они сейчас находятся.). Now please tell me the way to Hyde Park. …, please come out to the front and show us the way. (Ученик показывает и объясняет, как мы туда должны добраться.) Thank you. Take your seat.

…, ask somebody if this park is the most famous one in London. (Ученик должен задать одному из учеников вопрос “Is this park the most famous one in London?” Ученик, к которому был обращен вопрос, должен ответить “Yes, it is.”)

…, ask somebody if people can walk there,…. if they eat their sandwich there, … if they can talk there, … if people can read books in this park and enjoy music, … if there are signs like “Don’t walk on the grass”. (управляемый диалог)

2) Развитие навыков монологической речи и фрагмент аудирования. Now we should go straight on and turn left. What is it? (Ученики должны ответить, что это Big Ben, потому что в этот момент учитель включает магнитофон, и учащиеся слушают звук колокола.) What do you know about the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben? …, please come out to the front and tell us a few words about it. Listen to her/him… Thank you very much.

3) Развитие навыков чтения и перевода. Now we go further. We go straight on, turn right. What is it? What do you know about Trafalgar Square? To know more about Trafalgar Square, let’s read the text about it.

…, begin reading. …Thank you…. Let’s translate this text.

4) Развитие навыков монологической речи. Now everybody, tell me the way to Tower Bridge from Trafalgar Square. …, come out to the front, show us the way. Thank you. Take your seat. Who wants to tell us about Tower Bridge? (Один из учеников рассказывает про Тауэрский мост.)

5) Развитие навыков аудирования. To get to the next place we should listen to the dialogue. Here at the board you see three sentences. After listening you should say if these sentences ate right or wrong, true or false.

На доске три предложения:

  1. Piccadilly Circus is a mile from here. (T)
  2. It’s her second visit to London. (F)
  3. He advises her to see Buckingham Palace. (F)

Dialogue for listening.

A: I say!

B: Yes, what is it?

A: How far is Piccadilly Circus from here?

B: I think it’s something like a mile. You can walk to it if you are not in a hurry.

A: Yes. I think I’d better walk. You see it’s my first visit to London, so I shall see the town.

6) Развитие навыков диалогической речи. Now we are near Buckingham Palace. Is this palace the most famous place in London? Why is it famous? How many rooms are there? Is there a swimming pool? Is there a theatre? Is there a cinema? (Учитель выборочно задает вопросы учащимся, дети отвечают.)

7) Развитие навыков письменной речи.

а) To know the next place you should decode these letters. Please, open your exercises-books and do it in written form. (После того как дети расшифровали, один из учеников рассказывает про Tower of London.)

b) To find out the next place you should know the key word. Do the puzzle and find the answer word.

1. What is the Thames? (river)

2. The most famous place in London because it is the home of the Queen. (Buckingham Place)

3. The most popular place for people to meet. (Trafalgar Square)

4. The biggest toy shop in London. (Hamleys)

5. One of the oldest bridges in London. (Tower Bridge)

6. There are no signs like “Do not walk on the grass”. (Hyde Park)

The key word : RUSSIA

To return home we should say “East or West, home is best.”

8) Развитие навыков диалогической речи. (Одна-две пары рассказывают диалог “Where were you?”)

Dialogue:

A: Hello.

B: Hi. Where were you yesterday?

A: I was in London.

B: Really! I envy you. What did you do there?

A: I visited a lot of interesting places.

B: Did you see one of the oldest bridges in London?

A: You mean Tower Bridge. Of course. I also visited Hyde Park, the tower of London, Buckingham Palace.

B: I didn’t see all these places. But I want.

A: And what about you? Where were you?

B: I stayed in our town. I walked in the park, visited museums, and went to the theatre.

A: As I see you like our town.

B: It’s true. My hometown is the most beautiful town in the world.

A: They say “East or west, home is best”.

B: That’s right.

III. Заключительный.

Подведение итогов работы на уроке. I’m satisfied with your work today. I give a “five” to …, a “four” to … .
