I. We shall start our lesson with Australian Quiz. Look at the pictures and answer the questions.

III. You are going to take part in the1 role play. You will be given one of the roles: 2 visitors, a guide.

Situation A – Visitor 1– Melissa.

You are entering the National Gallery of Art in Canberra. You are waiting for your friend. You want to see some Aboriginal Art. You ask Jeremy about it.

You are late. You are entering the National Gallery of Art in Canberra. You see your friend Melissa, say “Hello” to her and say why you were late. You want to watch films or videos about it. You ask Jeremy about it.

Situation A – Guide – Jeremy

You greet guests, say your name and say that your job is to help visitors to understand and to enjoy works of art here. You tell them about aboriginal artists and their pictures. You ask – Melissa and Barbara questions. You answer their questions.

You are entering the Art Gallery of New South Wales and see your friend Ann there. You ask her personal questions. You interrupt Jonathan and ask him about the picture.

You are going to take part in the 2 role play. You will be given one of the roles: 3 visitors, a host.

You are entering the Art Gallery of New South Wales and see your friend Helen there. You are happy and answer her questions. You ask Jonathan about the artist.

Situation B – Visitor 3 – Monika

You are entering the Art Gallery of New South Wales and see your friends Helen and Ann there. You are talking over the phone with your Dad and say that you are at the Art Gallery, you say “Hello” to them. You ask Jonathan to show you some interesting things in the Art Gallery.

You see 3 visitors, say your name and say that your job is to help visitors to understand and to enjoy works of art here. You tell them about the paintings and the artists. At the end ask them if they liked the exhibition.

One or two pupils retell the story.

The answer: Brett, Annabel, Mr.Cooper are going in the carriage to some place to take part in the card game. They hope to win and to be rich. They were talking and didn’t notice that the driver had died. The horses rushed, Brett, Annabel, Mr.Cooper were frightened. Brett was trying to stop the horses, at last the horses stopped but at the very brink of the precipice. Brett rushed out and hung down the precipice holding to the stones. Mr.Cooper helped him to climb up a shore.

Would you like to be a famous person? Why?

The pupils answer this question.

Hometask: to write about advantages and disadvantages of being famous.
