Задачи урока:
- Формировать навыки аудирования и монологического высказывания.
- Ознакомить учащихся с новой лексикой и тренировать их употребление в устной речи.
- Совершенствовать навыки чтения аудитивных текстов с извлечением главной информации.
Цели урока:
- Развивающие цели – развитие у учащихся внимания и восприятия, слуховой памяти; развитие способности к аналитической деятельности; формирование у учащихся внутренней мотивации к изучению языка и культуры.
- Образовательная цель – расширение кругозора учащихся за счет ознакомления со страноведческой информацией.
- Воспитательная цель – воспитание у учащихся культуры общения и поведения и умения вести диалог.
- Практическая цель – научить учащихся понимать англ. речь с опорой на текст; активизировать употребление страноведческой лексики в устной речи и письме.

- Чтение текста «Getting Around Britain» с последующим его объяснением.

Ход урока
1. Greeting
T.: Good morning, students!
S.: Good morning!
T.: Glad to see you. Sit down, please. Today we are going to discuss one of the most serious and important problems for today – TRANSPORT, we are going to describe pictures and we are going to read the text which will help you to learn some information about transport problems in Britain. And also we are going to talk about similarities and differences between transport in Great Britain and Russia.
2. Warming up
T: So now, please, answer my questions:
- What kinds of transport do you know?
- What kinds of transport do you prefer when travelling?
- What is the most comfortable method of travelling for you? Why?
- What are the biggest transport problems in your country?

3. Descriptions of the pictures
T: Before reading the text let us describe the pictures given in the text on page 43 in your books. What kinds of transport are shown in the pictures?

T: By the way, students, the narrow boat in the picture below is on Llangollen Canal in Wales and the steam train at the top of the page is on Severn Valley railway.
4. Introduction of the Vocabulary

T: Read through the questions, please, given above the text in exercise 1 on page 43.

T: Now, students, let`s do exercise 2 on page 43. Before doing this exercise listen to the information about transport problems in Britain. It may be helpful in doing this exercise. (Учитель читает статью из книги для учителя на стр. 55 № 2.)

7. Listening comprehension
