Цель урока: ответить на вопрос «Чем отличаются традиции разных народов и есть ли у них общие черты?»

Задачи:

  1. Обобщить лексический и грамматический материал изучаемой темы.
  2. Развивать наблюдательность и логическое мышление.
  3. Прививать интерес и уважение к своей национальной культуре и традициям других народов.

Оснащение:

  • интерактивная доска или мультимедийный проектор,
  • проекты учащихся о праздниках,
  • запись песни “Happy Birthday”.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

Teacher : Good morning, friends! I am glad to see you! Today we are going to speak about holidays and traditions of different countries. During the lesson we should find the answers to the questions: “What are the differences?”, “Do we have anything in common?”

Get ready to use as many new words on the topic as possible and present your projects about different celebrations.

II. Фонетическая зарядка.

Teacher: Let’s start with reading some words that will help us to speak on the topic:

Now we’ll refresh expressions which are used to describe celebrations. Match the expressions and their translations:

  1. Cook tasty food

IV этап урока – British traditions.

- Do you know the present British queen’s name?

- Her name is Elisabeth II.

- Do you believe that the British queen has two birthdays?

It’s unbelievable, but the British queen has two birthdays: in April she celebrates her real birthday, and in June British people celebrate her official birthday with a beautiful ceremony Trooping the Colours in London.

In Great Britain and America people celebrate Christmas in December, in Russia it is celebrated in January. What do people do on this day?

Do you know who started the tradition of giving presents for Christmas? It was a British queen.

Queen Victoria ruled the British Empire during the 19 century and introduced many traditions, among them decorating Christmas trees and giving presents to members of the family.

What holidays are popular in spring? How do people celebrate them?

Next season is summer, but there is one holiday that is celebrated between spring and summer and symbolizes their meeting.

Bakaldyn is a very important day for young people of Evenks (native people of the North of the Amur region). As they hear the first cuckoo-bird they make gates of two trees, decorate them, go through them – that means they get one year older. Evenks wear their national clothes on this day, dance together, sing songs and eat tasty food.

Ivan Kupala Day was very popular in ancient Russia. (Students speak about this holiday).

What holiday is not celebrated in Russia and Great Britain but is very popular in America? Why? (Students speak about Thanksgiving Day that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November).
