Цель урока: систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме «Животные в нашей жизни».

Задачи урока:

  • Познавательные: расширение кругозора учащихся о жизни животных.
  • Воспитательные: формирование любви и бережного отношения к животным; воспитание уважительного отношения к произведениям русского народного творчества; развитие интереса к изучению английского языка.
  • Развивающие: развитие памяти учащихся, творческого мышления, способности к наблюдательности.
  • Учебные: тренировка произносительных навыков; активизация лексического материала по теме «Животные в нашей жизни»; тренировка в употреблении грамматического материала (The Present Perfect Tense); развитие навыков аудирования; совершенствование навыков монологической и диалогической речи по теме; тренировка навыков чтения про себя с полным пониманием прочитанного (вопросы викторины).

  1. Карточки со звуками.
  2. Плакаты с изображением животных.
  3. Раздаточный материал (карточки с заданиями для аудирования, карточки для викторины, карточки по грамматике).
  4. Картинки и фото с изображением животных.
  5. Костюмы сказочных героев.
  6. Макет домика для сказки.
  7. Магнитофон.
  8. Аудиозапись песни.
  9. Компьютер.

  11. Презентация.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

T: Good morning, children and our dear guests!

Cl: Good morning, teacher!

T: I am glad to see you.

Cl: We are glad to see you too.

T: The theme of our lesson is «The Animal’s World». Today we’ll speak, read and listen about animals: wild and domestic, animals who live on a farm and pets. And even you will be animals yourselves. Let's start our lesson.

II. Фонетическая зарядка

1. На магнитной доске размещены карточки с транскрипционными значками в следующей последовательности:

T: Look at the sounds on the blackboard and name them.

Ученики по очереди называют звуки.

T: And now put the sounds in the right order to make the words out of the sounds. The words must be the names of the animals.

2. T: I hope you can easily recognize animals by their voices. Let’s imitate their voices as English people hear them and transcribe these sounds on the blackboard.

III. Речевая зарядка

T: Children, I would like to ask you some questions about animals.

  1. Do you like animals?
  2. Do you know animals well? Which of them are wild? (В классе висит плакат с изображением разных животных. Необходимо назвать и показать только диких животных).
  3. Do you feed birds in winter?
  4. Do you like to go to the zoo?
  5. What animals can you see in the zoo?
  6. Who are the favourite pets in Russia?
  7. Have you got pets at home?
  8. What pets have you got?

IV. Совершенствование навыков монологической речи. Вопросно-ответная работа

T: I see many of you have pets at home. Could you tell us about them? Put the pictures or photos of your pets on the blackboard.

Example:

P1: All the members of my family like animals very much, so we keep a lot of pets at home. They are a dog, a cat, a parrot and goldfishes. Our dog, called Jack, is my father’s favourite. Jack is a cruel black-and-white dog. In the morning and in the evening Dad takes him for a walk. He is so strong that only Dad can hold him on leash. Jack likes when my father brushes his thick hair. But Jack is a clever and foxy dog and at home he makes friends with our cat Murka.

Murka is our joy. She is very kind and friendly. She is so beautiful and fluffy that people always admires her. Murka likes when she sits on our knees and we stroke her. Our parrot, named Kesha, is a noisy bird with brightly-coloured feathers. I am responsible for Kesha. I clean his cage, feed him and give him water many times a day. Kesha likes to repeat what we say.

It’s not easy to take care of goldfishes. I feed the fishes and give them fresh water. It seems to me that they began to recognize me. We love our pets.

T: Thank you. Your story is interesting and informative. But, children, have you got any questions?

P2: How old is your dog?

P3: What does Jack like to eat?

P4: What colour is your cat?

P5: What words can your parrot say? Etc.

V. Тренировка в употреблении грамматического материала (The Present Perfect Tense)

T: I see that all of you love your pets. But do you know how to take care of them properly? Look at the screen. (Слайд 8)

T: Now, children, let’s remember the Present Perfect Tense. Read and translate the words and expressions on the screen. Make up your sentences in the Present Perfect Tense using these words and expressions.

P1: I have already fed my dog.

P2: I haven’t cleaned the cage yet.

P3: He has bought food for his cat.

P4: They have taken the hamster to the vet. Etc.

T: But, children, do you always understand your pets? Can their behaviour whisper you that they need your attention and care? Look at the screen. (Слайд 9)

(На слайде и на столах у учащихся в качестве раздаточного материала).

T: Explain why the pets are so busy now. What have you done for them? Use your phrases in Present Perfect.

Example:

  1. _______________________, so Rex is gnawing it in the corner now. – I have bought a bone for my dog in the Pet Shop, so Rex is gnawing it in the corner now.
  2. _______________________ and the cat is sleeping in the basket now.
  3. _______________________, so the hamsters are eating and eating.
  4. _______________________ and the kittens are running and jumping now.
  5. _______________________, so the canaries are singing a beautiful song.
  6. _______________________, so the tortoise is moving to the water.
  7. _______________________, so the parrot is talking to my friends.

Учащиеся заполняют карточки, затем зачитывают свои предложения.

VI. Развитие навыков аудирования

T: The English people like animals very much. They have special dog shops, dog hair-dressing saloons and dog cemetries. London Airport has a special «animal hotel». The English arrange dogs' shows and organize dogs' supper parties for winners of dogs' competitions. [1]

T: In Britain many people have one or more pets at home and looking after them is their hobby. Now listen to the story about the author’s pets and fill in the table. (Слайд 10)

Учащимся раздаются карточки с заданиями для аудирования. (Приложение 1)

My Hobby – My Pets
I have several hobbies. But my major hobby is looking after my pets. I am fond of animals. I think nothing else in our life could supply us with more pleasant emotions than our pets. It is so pleasant to know that somebody needs you and loves you only for the fact that you exist. Your friends can betray you, but your pets never.
Now let me tell you about my pets. I have two cats and a dog.
One cat is male. Its name is Ryzhyk. He is 5 years old. His fur is reddish-brown. He likes to play with a ball. Actually, he has a dog-like behaviour. He performs different tricks and prefers the company of the dog to the company of the cat. He won several prizes at different Cat Shows.
My second cat is of no breed. It’s a female. Her name is Makha. She is 4 years old, long-haired, tabby. She doesn’t like lively games. Her favourite pastime is lying on the windowsill and thinking about the sense of life.
And the youngest of my pets is French bulldog, 2 years old. Her name is Zhuzha. She is spotted in colour. She also has some prizes from the Dog Shows. It’s a cheerful little dog whose loyalty is almost unlimited.
To my opinion, the role of pets in our life is best described by Austrian zoologist Conrad Lorenz. In one of his books he said: «In rapid current of our life a present-day man from time to time wants to feel he is still himself, and nothing can give him such a pleasant confirmation of it, but «four legs» mincing behind».

T: How can your pets influence you? What feelings and emotions do they provoke?

P1: I feel happy when I stroke my cat.

P2: My pet helps me forget all my problems.

P3: My cat gives me the feeling of peace.

P4: My pet helps me reduce my stress.

P5: When I feel sad, my pet can cheer me up.

P6: My dog is my real friend. He always keeps my secrets.

P7: Cats are good for our health.

P8: When I am nervous, my pet helps me calm down.

VII. Тренировка навыков чтения про себя с использованием лексики по теме «Животные». Выполнение заданий викторины

T: We have talked a lot about pets. Now I would like to see how much you know about wild and farm animals. (Слайд 11)

Take the cards for the quiz. Choose the correct animal.

VIII. Активизация лексических навыков

T: Animals have always been heroes of popular tales, poems and songs in different countries. People based on their traits of character. In Russia the most popular animals in tales are a fox, a wolf, a bear and a hare. How would you characterize these animals? (Описание животных сопровождается показом слайдов с изображением зверей из русских народных сказок)

P1: a fox is cunning. clever, fast, strong … (Слайд 12)

P2: a wolf is cruel, dangerous, strong … (Слайд 13)

P3: a bear is strong, dangerous, slow … (Слайд 14)

P4: a hare is silly, quick … (Слайд 15)

IX. Совершенствование навыков диалогической речи. Инсценировка сказки

T: And now let's dramatize popular Russian tale «The Fox, the Hare and the Cock». Put on your costumes for the tale. (Слайд 16 ) (Приложение 2)

X. Совместное исполнение песни «Baa, Baa, Black Sheep»

T: Now I see you are tired. Let’s sing the song «Baa, Baa, Black Sheep».

(Во время исполнения песни выходят два ученика в костюмах овечек)

XI. Заключительный этап урока

T: It’s very good that you love animals, that you know how to look after your pets. Animals are our friends and they need our help. Thank you for your excellent work. You were very active today. Your marks are … The lesson is over. Good-bye, children and our dear guests!
