Цель: развитие монологической речи учащихся.

Планируемые образовательные результаты

личностные:

  • развитие умений высказывать свою точку зрения, аргументируя её;
  • уважительно относиться к противоположным мнениям; метапредметные: развитие умения работать в парах, в мини-группах; развитие умений
  • добывать информацию, критически оценивая её; умение представлять текстовый материал в различной форме (в виде таблицы, схемы);

предметные: активизация лексики по теме; развитие лингво-культурной компетенции.

Тип урока: урок совершенствования речевых умений.

Стратегии: кластер, “тонкие” и “толстые” вопросы, инсерт, двойной дневник, синквейн.

Оборудование: учебник “Enjoy English” для 8 класса (авторы: Биболетова М.З., Трубанева Н.Н.), раздаточный материал для учащихся.

Ход урока

I. Оргмомент.

- Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you!

Today we will have a talk about environmental problems.

II. Основной этап урока.

1. Стадия вызова (Evocation)

a) – You will read and discuss the text about it. But first answer my question. What do you think about when you hear this word combination? Look at the blackboard, please. Here you can see a claster.

What words and word combinations can you put in this claster? Why do you think so?

(Возможные варианты: chemical waste, air pollution, water pollution, endangered animals, unhealthy food, a lot of litter).

b) – Now I want you to fill in the table. You have to recollect and write down 5 nouns, 5 adjectives and 5 verbs connected with our theme.

(Возможные варианты: world, pollution, health, animal, problem; unhealthy, polluted, international, serious, dangerous; pollute, kill, damage, save, help).

2. Стадия осмысления (Realization of meaning).

a) – Now open your books. Read the text in ex. 12, p. 43 and insert it with a tick, a plus, a minus and a question mark. Then fill in the table:

Now let’s discuss in groups:

What facts did you know before?

What new information have you found in the text?

Are there any facts in the text you don’t understand?

b) – Now you have to work with a “Double diary”. Write out some quotations, which are interesting for you, and give your comments:

- Work in pairs and tell each other what you have put in your tables.

(Возможный вариант: People pollute themselves with cigarettes, alcohol and junk food. – It's true. I agree with the statement.)

c) – Answer “thin” and “thick” questions:

1. What has the Earth given to all forms of life for thousands of years?

2. Are human beings killing our planet now? Why do you think so?

3. People pollute themselves, don’t they? Explain your answer.

4. Can you do anything to protect our planet? If you can, tell about it.

3. Стадия рефлексии (Reflection).

a) – And now look at the claster again. What words can you add to it?

b) – Now let’s make a conclusion and write a cinquain on the theme “Environmental Problems”.
