Практика показывает, что успешная сдача экзаменов по английскому языку предполагает владение большим объемом лексического материала и свободного оперирования им в речи, поэтому объем иноязычного лексического запаса учащихся должен стать предметом особой значимости при их подготовке. В основе эффективной коммуникации, по мнению авторов Кембриджских учебных материалов, лежит, в первую очередь, владение лексикой. Отчего же зависит успешность овладения лексическим материалом? Несомненно, в этом процессе важную роль играет объем долговременной памяти ребенка. В нашей школе мы ведем целенаправленную работу на расширение объема долговременной памяти каждого ученика. Мной разработаны упражнения, в результате систематического выполнения которых, процесс овладения большим объемом лексики существенно облегчается. Здесь приведен пример таких упражнений на основе лексики, предлагаемой УМК “English World 4”.
