Skills development: to train phonetic skills through pronunciation of such sounds as [m], [p]-[b], [t]-[d], [f]-[v], [h], [s]-[z], [?], [u], [9u], [w] in series of exercises and in a fairy-tale about sounds.

Communicative object: to develop communication skills on the basis of a song “Spring is green”, skills of writing.

Educational object: to bring up intension to love nature and protect the environment.

Textbook: “Happy English. ru” 5 form Kaufman K. E., Kaufman M. Y.

Materials - presentation of a song “Spring is green” in Microsoft Office Power Point, a text of the song, pictures with the words “a fly”, “a bee”, “wind”, “rain”, cards with sounds, cards of the ABC.

Lesson plan

I. Beginning

1. Greeting

Good afternoon, dear children! I'm so happy to see you! The theme of our lesson today is “Our Journey to Sound Land”. We’ll make our own fairy-tale about sounds.

2. A warming-up activity

First of all let's train our tongues. Repeat a poem after me:

Seasons

Spring is green,
Summer is bright,
Autumn is yellow,
Winter is white.

II. Follow up

Activity 1. A song “Spring is green” (Приложение 1)

Look at the board and listen to a song.

Now sing along. (Children are listening to the song looking at the multimedia projector with a song on it) (Приложение 2)

Is spring green?

Is summer bright?

Is autumn yellow?

Is winter white?

Speak about autumn. (Autumn is yellow/ red/ gold/ cold).

Activity 2. A play “Vans”

Well, we are ready to go to the land of the sounds. The sounds like seasons very much. We will go there by train. Each of you will go in its own van of a definite letter. When a train goes we syt [t], when a train stops we say [o], when a train gives a signal we say [w]. On each stop I will name a letter of a van and you should say a word given on a card with this letter. Let’s go!

  2. It is a fox.
  3. It is a cat.
  4. It is a queen.
  5. It is a bat.
  6. It is a pilot.
  7. It is a mum.
  8. It is a dad.
  1. It is a child.
  2. It is a bus.

  8. It is a boot.

Activity 3. Pronunciation work

We are in Sound Land.

Let’s pronounce the following sounds: [m], [p]-[b], [t]-[d], [f]-[v], [h], [s]-[z], [?], [З], [r], [9u],[w].

Let us get acquainted with the masters who pronounce these sounds.

A cat, a fox, a rose, a tree, a bee, a dog, a fly, a girl, a rabbit, wind, rain are heroes of our fairy-tale.

Now match the heroes and the sounds:

[m] – a cat

[p]-[b] – a rabbit

[t]-[d] – rain

[f]-[v] – a fox

[h] – a girl

[s]-[z] – a fly

[w] – wind

[9u] – a rose

[?] – a tree

[З] – a bee

[r] – a dog.

Activity 4. Speaking

Imagine what season each hero of the tale likes most of all and match them with seasons.

A cat, a dog, a rabbit.

A fox, a fly, a bee, a rose.

A tree, rain.

A girl, wind.

SPRING

SUMMER

AUTUMN

WINTER

Very good!

Make your sentences using a scheme: a hero says [sound]

A cat says [m].

A dog says [r], etc.

Activity 5. A fairy-tale

Now tell us a fairy-tale.

Author: It is spring.

P1: A cat says [m].

P2: A dog says [r].

P3:A rabbit says [p]-[b] .

Author: It is summer.

P1: A fox says [f]-[v].

P2: A fly says [s]-[z].

P3: A bee says [З].

P4: A rose says [9u].

Author: It is autumn.

P1:A tree says [?].

P2: Rain says [t]-[d].

Author: It is winter.

P1: A girl says [ h].

P2: Wind says [w].

Finish our fairy-tale with a song “Spring is green”.

Activity 6. Writing

Let’s write some sentences from our fairy-tale. Open your exercise-books write down the date.

Write the following sentences:

It is spring. It is summer. It is autumn. It is winter.
